New Copy Images!

All of the pictures I took fot my samples

First off, I'm learning how to work with this new scanner/printer, it prints very light, and scans very light, so I have to make the picture viewable by blackening the crap out of them, I'm gonna use multiple colors for the sketches to see if you can make out the foundation better

Well I tried a whole bunch of pictures, try to loosen up a lot by practicing a group of styles

I also found out yet another thing I have a problem, something more to add to the list

I've always drawn everything looking to the left, and until now I never noticed it! But I aim to solve this by practicing away, that why Jerry looks so wonky, hopefully I'll be comfortable with things looking to the right soon

OK, for reals this time, I am up and going!

About 3 weeks ago I said I was going to get art going, and I am going to do it dammit!

I found out my orientation was a week earlier than planned, and me and my friend had to push the road trip to Florida forward

So we road tripped over to Florida from Texas, had a blast, got me all settled in, and then he had to go back

...and so now, I'm alone :[

It's not really the whole "loneliness" thing thats really getting to me, it's just that it's so damn boring

So while I'm sitting here with this bundle of boring time in my lap, I suppose I'll get a lot more digital art done

So if you feel like chattin', feel free to hit me up on either my Sheezy, Blog, or Deviant account, more likely than not I'm gonna reply

PEACE OUT

Alrighty people! I am back for at least some period of time!

Sorry for being gone for like...two something months
I've really gotten off the computer (probably for the best) and I'm having the hardest time getting back on, hell, I'm having a hard time typing all this out!

I'm eating healthy, exercising regularly, and pushing my artistic talents in new ways, and if feels great! (Not to brag of course)

I'm also having the damnedest time actually getting my art scanned
Would you guys care to actually see some of it?

Well for a little update I'm moving to Florida, for college, and it's a bit of an ordeal to get it all going, AKA a giant pain in the ass to move my crap, but I'm looking forward to the roadtrip!

I've also just been living it up and all that, got a ps3, got addicted to Little Big Planet, found a borders with all the art books I can ever need, just the little things I've been enjoying for all their worth

On the bigger news I went to Atlanta for two weeks to have fun over at my older cousin's wedding, it was beautiful, and all of us groomsmen sat and smoked 20$ cigars and drank a bottle of 250$ scotch :)

And I think I may need surgery for my right foot, I think I'm getting my mother's arthritis, and my big toe's knuckle is jutting out, and it HURTS

Thats about it, I'll get some art scanned in soon so you can see my work so far

Whats all going down here?

Mind Games, a Japanese film

NOTE: THIS IS PURELY A CONSUMER VIEW, THIS AT NO TIME REFLECTS MY FEELINGS ON THE QUALITY OF ANIMATION OF ANIME (Thats another headache for another time)

First, Hi! It's been awhile but I once again roam the interwebs

Second, I'm posting this on all blogs, so if you think this is a conceted circle jerk so people can disagree or agree with me, it's not, just really needed to spill some thoughts out loud

ANIME

In the current day and age it's a word that strikes joy or total discord

Now me personally, it's a word associated with mix feelings of contempt and anger, sadly.

NOW before you Rucky Star fans just smash your computers in that someone DOESN'T agree with you, listen

Anime has no RIGHT to be what it is. It's in the biggest animation bubble in this side of the GALAXY, it's thrived were almost all have virtually failed, miserably I might add

So why do I hold it with disdain? Because it's doing exactly what a capitalistic market does to art, it takes the art out of it!

You see, Japan culture is strikingly similar when it comes to America in the entertainment industry, we both know as a culture what we want, Japan has a distinct idea of their tastes as do we, the problem is, we (Note: WE, Japan and America) hate what we either don't understand, or what fits into our sense of "Good" material.

So Japan as a nation is infatuated with their pre-determined art style of "Anime", this of course covering all forms of relative media, wich is fine, but they, like all of our American Brethren hate what doesn't fit in there "norm"

Wich business promptly picks up on and make shows of what they like.

And the industry cogs turn, and grind out tirelessly the SAME thing

This is the real center of my problem with Anime

This proccess has cycled over and over till the "art" in Anime is destroyed, and any aspect that allured anyone that wasn't part of this trend dies

Now America had this same damn problem, in the 60's through the 80's we seemingly lost all of our talent in animation overnight, then in the 90's we had a good century of shows, movies, etc. that focused on the art, and then worried about predetermined likes of America,
then we went STRAIGHT back in the shitter for the 2000's

America has paid for it's machinations, and just LOOK at us! Animation almost died out completely here, and were STILL struggling to bring it back

But what of Japan? They have had the same folly as us, but they have exploded!

Does no one notice this cycle, or do they simply not care? Does the common studio know they made the exact same "Slice of life" anime show over a million times, and simply not care?

Japan's Anime trend is simply that, a trend, and this entire state it's in is the true reason I really can't stand for it's forms of "expression" as they were

This is the main reason you see a lot of backlash in relations to Anime. People just get sick of the regurgitation of ideas, over, and OVER again.

But hey, when I see something that isn't simply meant to sell naked figurines of it's characters, I praise it for all it's worth.

When I get a show like Paranoia agent, or a movie like Mind Games from Japan I think "Goddamn, why can't more of THIS come out???"

I've really looked at the source, and this is all I can really come up with, I don't think I'm wrong, but I'd love to be shown a more viable reason Anime is in the terrible state it is (I'm not going to listen to why anime as a whole is still "good". If there was a day for that it's been long gone)

Now I've been meaning to post this, but it should go with a post about the trend itself
http://www.cartoonbrew.com/anime/anime-is-dying.html

Looks like the ends are gonna justify the means soon for Anime, what they've been trying to pull is exactly what we've done (Americans) and they're gonna hit HARD
